Welcome to the Majumdar Lab

Chemical biology of opioid receptors and related GPCRs

Research in the Majumdar Laboratory is aimed at attaining functional selectivity of opioid agonist action and other related GPCRs from its on target adverse effects while integrating natural products chemistry, synthetic medicinal chemistry, structural biology and pharmacology. Work from the laboratory has led to probes which display G-protein biased signaling, partial agonism and aided in active state structures of opioids as well as cannabinoids. Two drugs developed in our labs are in clinical trials for treatment of pain and opioid use disorders. As a lab we speak twelve languages, practice four religions and do kickass science.
